About Jelly
Jelly is a private, invite-only social network for families. Share photos, make plans, play games, and stay connected with friends and family.
We created Jelly so children can enjoy connecting online while parents stay involved. It’s built and hosted by the Alfsen family, with no ads. Every family account must be approved by the Alfsens or an administrator they’ve selected before joining.
Built for families
One family account can have separate profiles for adults and children. Four-digit PINs help everyone use their own profile on a shared device.
Parents can review their children’s posts, groups, and direct messages. Children have their own space to participate, with their parents able to follow along.
Every group has at least one adult moderator. Moderators can review group activity, remove posts, give warnings, and block users from the group.
Children can message other children who share a group with them, apart from the group ‘Jelly News’. Children can also message immediate-family adults and adults approved by their parents in Family profiles. Adults can message other adults, immediate-family children, and children whose parents have approved them.
Getting started
- Request an account. Choose Create account, enter your details, and select an account administrator you know. Verify your email and wait for approval.
- Set up your profile. Choose an avatar, add an introduction, and share your interests and photos.
- Set your adult PIN. This protects access to your adult profile when sharing a device.
- Add your family. Open Family profiles to create child profiles, add an adult profile for your spouse or partner, or link their existing account.
- Help your children get started. Let them customize their profiles. You can optionally give each child a PIN to keep siblings out of one another’s profiles.
- Find your groups. Everyone automatically joins the group ‘Jelly News’. Adults and children can request to join other groups or create one. Groups created by children need an adult moderator to accept the role.
- Start participating. Post an update, share a photo, join an event, or try the arcade.
Parents can choose whether their children need approval to join groups or events. Requests appear in Messages under Approvals.
